About Our Scents

We want everything we do at Nowhere Else Creations to have as little impact on the environment as possible. We try to minimise unnecessary packaging, use recycled paper for most of our labels, and provide biodegradable glassene bags for our melts. Our gift boxes and tins are intended to be reused many times.

With that in mind, here's a few reasons as to why we use Rapeseed and Coconut wax for our wax melts, over the main alternatives.

Originally, we made our products using soy wax, but as we delved further into the topic, it became apparent that this was, in fact, far more detrimental to the planet than we realised. The demand for Soy wax has sharply risen over the past few years, leading to a dangerous amount of deforestation in most areas where it’s grown, this includes the removal of large green areas to establish new soy fields. For this reason, we wanted to find an alternative wax before we even really began.

Rapeseed and coconut wax is a much more eco-friendly wax than Soy (or Paraffin). Blended from Rapeseed oil and Coconut Oil in Europe, free from synthetic material and preservatives, the blend we use contains no added beeswax, palm oil, or paraffin wax. The wax is vegetable and non-toxic, it's biodegradable (as are all the lovely little embellishments we add like flowers and glitter) and, because it retains and throws scent really well, we're not sacrificing anything in the user's experience.

Using Our Melts

We try to get our scent throw just right, so a single small melt, a chunk of a snap bar, or a piece (about a fifth) of one of the larger tarts should give you 6-10 hours of heavenly aroma. Smell, however, is a personal thing so you may find that you prefer a stronger (or weaker) scent so feel free to adjust accordingly.
